Audience Advocates & Evidence Based Solutions
We work with a focused eye on the project’s audience and intentions. In this process, we encourage user research to ensure that our solutions are effectively aligned with our project's desired outcomes.
Projects Kept Simple
We create products and messages to be lightweight, effective, and iteratively flexible. We learn about all the plausible characteristics and needs of the audience, and develop a lean, adaptive foundation that can be scaled to whatever comes natural.

Design, pleased to meet you.
A crude primer on design, for my technology and developer friends.
I’ve come to appreciate more and more that a designer’s most valuable ambition is simply to be one part “youthfully” inquisitive and the other part “youthfully” inventive — both attributes that made Tom Hanks such a great toy designer. I’m reminded on a daily basis by my 3 year old daughter that during our early, uninhibited stages in life we ask “why” at just about everything around us.
More things, less meanings.
My complicated, possibly career-endangering questions of our tech glut.
Technology in this decade, or more specifically The Tech Vallies, are seemingly more often excited by serving ego (our ego to leave something behind, an effigy of our mark on history) and a zeal to scale (how can I build something quickly that will catch attention and sell, or raise our esteem?) — rather than by an earnest interest in our collective wellbeing or progress.
Shapes At Work is always on the lookout for great people to partner with on projects. If you're experienced in any of the areas list and interested in learning more about collaboration opportunities, please email us at:
